It is Moroni’s request that we go to God to see for ourselves if the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God. It is a big part of the restoration of all things, and the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it invites us to use the same gift of the Spirit that Joseph Smith Jr. used to translate the Book of Mormon—the spirit of prophecy and revelation.
While the broken heart is the compassion we feel when we feel connected to all living things, the contrite spirit is the wisdom that flows from that feeling state.
As a nondenominational movement, our focus is on the divinity of Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. We believe that God meets us where we are and, being infinite, reveals that divine nature to us, finite beings, in a way we can understand on a personal level.

Our Mother in Heaven is someone to identify with, to know. And there is more evidence to be found in scriptures canonized by the original Church of Christ though ignored by the majority of Latter Day Saints today, the Apocrypha.
Everyone at some point asks the questions, “who am I? why am I here?” This is not a new line of thought, as we see people in the scriptures wrestled with these questions.
