Scriptures – The Fellowship of Christ

Scriptures

“And all things shall be done by Common Consent in the Church by much prayer and faith, for all things ye shall receive by faith; and thus it is, Amen.” -Doctrines of the Saints 20b:2

The of Church of Jesus Christ in Christian Fellowship has an open canon. When the Church of Christ was organized April 6, 1830 the Bible, Old and New Testaments and the Apocrypha, and the Book of Mormon were unanimously accepted as scripture. Later, August 17, 1835 select revelations from Joseph Smith were unanimously accepted as scripture. These were later printed in the 1835 edition of the Doctrine and Covenants. On April 6, 2019 and 2020 the General Assembly of the Church of Jesus Christ in Christian Fellowship voted and sustained additional books and revelations officially canon for use in our ministries. Having an open canon means that belief in canonized scripture is not a requirement for membership, and uncanonized works may be considered scripture by individuals, as it helps them grow closer to Jesus Christ.

The following is a list of canonized scripture (click on the images to open free PDF versions of each text):

The Holy Bible is a collection of the oldest of God’s words to mankind. It consists of the writings of the ancient Jews, including the Christian Jews that followed Christ and their message to the gentiles . “Bible” is a plural Greek word meaning “Books.” The Holy Bible, including the Old Testament, the Apocrypha, and the New Testament were sustained as canon for the Church of Christ on April 6, 1830.

The Everlasting Gospel is The Book of Avahr, the shared history of all Latter Day Saints, and The Book of Mormon, a sacred text for the Latter Day Saint movement. The Book of Mormon was sustained as canon for the Church of Jesus Christ April 6, 1830. The Book of Avahr was sustained as canon for the Fellowship of Christ April 6, 2019.

Book of Enoch

The Book of Enoch, or 1 Enoch, is an ancient religious work that was once a part of the Jewish and Christian canons. This edition adds the extract from the Prophecy of Enoch given to us by revelation from Joseph Smith Jr. The Book of Enoch was sustained as canon for the Fellowship of Christ April 6, 2019.

The Doctrine of the Saints is a collection of revelations from a wide variety of prophets from the Latter Day Saint movement to teach and instruct those that have come to Christ within the Fellowship of Christ, to prepare the way for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It includes Theology (also known as Lectures on Faith), Doctrines of the Saints (a collection of revelations found in a variety of different version of Doctrine and Covenants), The Book of the Law of the Lord (the original sections translated from selected plates of brass), Epistles (a collection of letters and writings to the Saints), the Revelations of Hava Pratt, the Book of Remembrance, and Hymns of the Saints.

The Plates of Brass are the stick of Joseph, along with the Book of Mormon. While not currently canon, this is a divinely inspired translation that David began March 8, 2018. Being awoken around 2 am, he was given the first few chapters of the Book of Melchizedek. Working from there, he continued the “translation” little by little, as he has been instructed by the Lord. The plates of brass are a part of the “coat of many colors” Jacob gave his son Joseph. It is a part of the stick of Ephraim that is to be put with the stick of Judah. This is why it was written on brass in Egyptian, the language of Joseph of Egypt, because it was not for all of the tribes. The translation of this book will be shared a little at a time as the work progresses. Currently, the translated plates of brass include:

  • The title page
  • 1 Sefer Moses (The First Book of Moses)
  • 2 Sefer Moses (The Second Book of Moses)
  • The first 8 chapters from Sefer Melchizedek (The Book of Melchizedek)
  • The Visions and Parables of Zenos
